Resume Quick Tricks

Resumes are essential, but they're also very tricky. The goal is to fit all of your accomplishments into just a few pages and then hope you've done it well enough that the person reading it wants to call you in for an interview.

But how do you do that?

Well, luckily, I've got some tips!

Tailor to Perfection
Ensure your resume is tailored to the job description. Getting caught up in the excitement of putting everything on there that could be relevant is easy when the hiring manager has only asked for bullet points about your work history—and not everything else. If there are gaps between jobs (or even if there aren't), don't panic! Just be honest about them and explain why they happened. It's better than trying to hide them!

Lights. Camera. Action … Verbs?
You should use action verbs in your sentences whenever possible. This will clarify that you did something at each job rather than just being there. For example: "I led a team of 10 people in developing a new product." Instead of: "I was part of a team that developed.
